Official name and Baby Björn

Today we signed the official papers for giving Milton his name. As soon as the papers have been processed he truly will be Milton. I hope he doesn't hate his given name :)

Thanks to Miltons godmother we have a Baby Björn and today we took it out for a test drive. We went to a local mall, Solna Centrum, to make some arrends. We bought a nursing bra and exhanged some money for the weekend poker. While mother Elina was trying on her new "helper" I took the opportunity to take some photos with my cellphone.

MMS bombing

What did people do before cellphones and the possibilty of sending MMS messages (it's called MMS in Sweden, don't really know what it's called in the english speaking world). I was born before computers and some years before TV-Games. I have old yellow pictures of me when I was a kid and most are in situations where planning was part of it. Then of course its the developing phase with waiting and moneyhandling. Now all one have to do is to take out the cellphone and take a picture (in various quality). Then MMS-away and share, share, share...

Mom is really good at sending me MMS with pictures of Milton. How can I not love them ?

No need for the hose

Washing is a good thing and we all feel great afterwards but sometimes one can find some strange things, when done... what is that ?

Let's get a better look..

"Mom, have you dropped something... something grose ?" .. Atleast Milton is clean and happy. Something is different... Ooohh, I got it...

Another first

Well, today we had another first experience. Totally boring I guess but.. hey.. what should I write about if I dont write about new things for Milton :)

We went for his first walk with the stroller today, but it was so windy we just went to the store and back. Looking at him in the stroller, I think he would enjoy it better coming summer.

We also had another visit from Miltons grandparents. Who can say No to company, cake and presents ? :)

Well, we are going to bed now. So to give you some ideas on how Milton looks like when he sleeps, here comes 3 pics from today. Sleep tight.

My perfect camera..

..is still broken. Canon, I am still disappointed with you. About $3000 and it breaksdown in a few months after perfect handling. I have sent it to service to get it fixed. As you have probably noticed all our pictures are from our cellphone cameras or like we say in Sweden, mobilkamera. We can't even get a hold of the pictures we took before it broke. As soon as we can, we will post them. It is said to take about 2 weeks but I pulled a sob story to get them to hurry it up. I think they actually took me seriously :)

In the meantime I have some more cellphone photos from mom and day.

First Check-Up

Yesterday Milton had his first weigh-in. I know he would love to be in the heavy weight class but with his 3280 grams he has a little further to go. They also tested him for genetic diseases and jaundice. He's cleared of jaundice but the genetic diseases, we have to wait for 2 weeks before we get an answer. a big "holla" to Milton for not crying when they poked him with needles to draw the blood :)

We also went to the supermarket for the first time. I dont count the time we went to our local store and Milton shoplifted his first (and last) produce. Some might blame the father that gave it to him but I say it was Miltons own choice. Just say "No".

We also introduced him to moms horses, Cirrus and Carizzma Star. When I saw them together I was thinking. A pony would be more his size, because in the beginning, size does matter.

Yesterday we had visitors again. That makes three days in a row. Now we will take it easy for a week or so. We don't want to strain him to much. Milton has to get into the day-to-day life. Last team of visitors was moms cousins, aunt and godmother.

Miltons first full day at home

everyday is better then the next one. Milton seems to adjust perfectly. He learned to find his food source the second day. He sleeps most of the day and when he is awake he is looking all around like he is observing and learning. He is the the cutest. Yes, I know I am his father and should be saying this but what can I do ?

Today we got a visit from my mother, grandmother, sister with kids and Miltons godfather. We have now introduced Milton to most of his closests relatives. Soon we can start our "real" life, the day-to-day life.

We also shot our first DV today. Nothing special, just Milton sleeping in his awsomeness :)

I haven't tried to "unfreeze" my Canon 40D yet. It's probably broken. Two weeks of service... Two weeks we wont get back. I really don't like Canon right now. Imagine buying something that pricey and it just breaks down at a moment like this in your life. Total bummer times a million. Thank you Canon, I have faith and trust in your products.

First night at home...

the magic date was the 23rd of january 2008. Milton was born 3480 gram and 52 cm. We arrived to BB Stockholm at 07:06 and after a rough but quick 5 hours and 8cm we went into overtime. 17:47 he entered the world, Milton Tjärnberg.

As a first born we got to stay for 2 nights, just to get a hang of it and it was great. I loved it all even though Milton went alto the entire night. Of course my camera broke !! I bought my perfect camera, Canon 40D, and it broke. I got pictures of the delivery and a couple more but nothing else. I now live with my Nokia N95 mobile camera because it is said to take 2 weeks to fix my 40D. Not good PR for Canons new baby. I really am disappointed, especially after the money I spent for it. An expensive camera is worthless if it can't take any photographs. Am I right ?

Today we came home and we have had our first guests. Whiskey, cigarrs and champagne was served :) Tomorrow will be the same for the most part.

Life is surely different now.

Family Step 2

If we dont count the acctual making of a baby. Step 1 should be preparing your home for the arrival of your baby. Step 1 for us ment renovation of our apartment and buying all the babythings man has invented, with a little help from an eager godmother (a diperbin ?? Who invents these things ??)

Step 2 would be to get rid of the gas thirsty automobile that so many times has put a big smile one my face. When two becomes three, who needs the V6 engine that roars like a lion in heat ? The family car has entered my life or should I say our life since my pleasuremobile is no longer there for my pleasure but for our needs. The choice for this family car that will be our way of transportation for the next 2-3 years ? Volkswagen Passat Variant 1.8Turbo.

You know what ? I kinda like it :)

My last day..

.. as a proud owner of a Peugeot 406 Coúpe -99... or is it. Elina and I are meeting a guy today to exchange cars. The person wants a sports car with muscles and we need a family car. As a man I say ..neeeii.. but as a dad I say ..yeeaaii.. I guess I can always go back to the sports car theme once I enter my middle age crise, in a year or two. Today we need four doors, a big ass trunk and a towing hook, so goodbye cool car and hello family car.

Hopefully we wont get ripped off, getting a messed up car.

It is done

Finally, all parents have met and this was acheived before the arrival of Milton. We couldn't have planned it better :) Yesterday we had a great dinner at Elinas parents place. Guests were Miltons grandfather, two grandmothers, onkel, cousin and their better halves.

We are now on our last week and the beting pole is set up. D-day is 20th, but I chose the 22nd. Others have chosen 20th and 24th. C'mon Milton, make daddy proud :)

As long as mom and Milton comes out healthy, a little tension teaser is good, no ? :)

It's her fault

It's probably my last weekend, or next weekend, as a guy. Soon I will be able to call myself a father, dad, "old man" and other kinds of slang words. The problem is that I still haven't gotten that feeling yet. I know my woman is pretty large around her stomach but other than that she looks pretty much the same... still... To add to it, she hasn't had any mood swings or motion problems. Like yesterday. I got home in the evening and she had washed the car, handwashed. She even vacuumed the inside. All she said was:

-"That was no problem, but it was a bit hard to reach beneath the car"

10 days left and she's as mobile as ever (almost). I bet that's why I haven't got that father feeling yet. I totally blame her ;-)

11 days left

Today we made another visit to "Mödravårdscentralen" - maternity ward (I guess). I love to say it was problem free as usual, for both Milton and Elina. Heartbeat, Sugar level and Iron level was perfect (like I wouldn't know that my girls sugar level is perfect! :)

Milton has started to slip in growth, looking at the default diagram, but that doesn't really matter. Hopefully this means that his head is a bit smaller, making the delivery a bit easier.

And for the father... A new year has come and the renovation is practically over. Today after work I will go to the gym once again. The second time after a 2,5 months pause. Ohh.. and I shaved my head to... so many changes :) ... Ain't life grand ?

Serious mind

Since the "over-eating" period is over, now that christmas and new years has passed, I have to start pumping iron again. This I take very seriously. As you can see on these photos I went straigt from work to the gym today. May I introduce some of the new years pics 07/08:

45 minutes

Pretty soon we will be going to do our second reality check, forcing us to face the fact that we so much have dreaded.... Giving birth. Me not so much as my love but I still have to figure out how to smuggle the camera into the delivery room so that I can take the perfect picture of a perfect boy. This ladies and gentlemen (and Milton once you are old enough to read... and of course old enough to read english) is not a task to be taken lightly =)

Today we are going on a fieldtrip to see where we are staying during our labour and ask questions about anything and everything we want to know about the "fight". I guess we also can choose the way of delivery too ? I heard standing in a pool is the least painful and gives the child an easier way out... That would be weird to see thoe.

13 days 'til D-Day... and I can't wait =)

After Christmas and New Year 2007

It is finally 2008 and the clock is ticking faster each day it seems. It's a new year and I am even more in love with Elina everyday. I could not have lost my heart to a more wonderful and beautiful woman.

We both survived the fireworks and games (so close to victory) on new years eve and now it is only approx 16 days left until our beloved Milton shall be born. As you can see on the chart he has fallen back a bit (darn it :) Mom had top results on all her tests. Imagine a vegetarian can go through a pregnancy without suppliments, viva la quorn and hail vegetabilicous.

Tonight I am going out on my last "free" party craze. I don't really miss it or long for it but it will be my last night out with the boys as a non-dad.. As it was written in stone..
