Family Feast

Grandma or mummi as it is said in Finnish (Yes, Milton is quarter finnish), came back from Finland yesterday after a week of vacation. We met at mummi's house and had dinner with ukki (that's grandpa) and Miltons cousin, Lova, and mom. It was great eating as usual and good company. It all ended with an hour of Let's Dance (Swedish version) and a diper full of surprices.

Milton-mania

Since I've been starving for good photos and a good camera I just had to take photos in a bundance. I wasn't the only one, Mom helped quite abit. As soon as Milton is awake, we run for the camera. It's just a face now that we have our camera back. I promise we'll grown out of it. After this Milton-mania set we'll go back to normal :)

Big Boys

I don't have many photos of us together so mom took the camera yesterday and went nuts. I guess the photos turned out good but I still don't see much resemblence, do you ? I guess I got to wait a bit until Milton grows into his face and genes :)

Back 2 Basic

So, like I told you before, my camera finally found its way back to me. My first thought was to go back to day one, D-Day (D for Delivery :)

This is Miltons first close-up in this life. It's taken just minutes after being born. I had just cut off his cord before taking this photo.

And what kind of camera geeks and parents would we be if we didn't immortalize Miltons first worn cloths. I was against the pink unicorn part. That colour isn't really my favorite and I wasn't to thrilled that it was part of Miltons first "colour meeting"... but then again, his skin was more pink then the mother of all pinks, aka the Pig :P

Lame Growth Update

According to information, our ordinary nurse was on holiday, so we got a substitute. Apparently she wasn't very helpful and didn't do the same things that our nurse usually do. Except the usual checkup we only got the new weight. Older people that have worked to long in their profession apparently like to do it their own way even though the customer asks for something else. To bad because I really was curious about Miltons height.

The Arrival of 40D

-"No, I am not talking about the size of the milk carton. I am talking about the camera dad bought to immortalize my face to all the corners of the universe"

It's true. I finally got my camera back. It only took 4 weeks. Now we can finally take some real photos of Milton and his adventures :) First I gotta bring out all the Day 1 photos since it didn't break until nightfall on the 23rd, the birthday.

Energizer bunnys worst threat

Don't ever under estimate the enourmous power, fierce energy and sharp alertness of our family genes. No man (nor woman) can stand a split second of comparison. Don't blink or you will miss it!

This weekend we had our friend, Lasse, over. He hasn't really been interacting or even seen Milton much. It really looked like they hit it off, but sometimes things are not what they seem.

Maybe this is a sign that Milton will be honest and forward or maybe it just means that he tries to hide his feelings until they get to powerful and he can't hold back ??? =)

Now, hear this!

Sitting down this weekend, doing nothing, we started to look at Milton trying to find similarities to ourselves. It's not easy since everything is so small but we did agree on that he looks mostly like mom =( .... It's okay, I'll just dibs our next kid =)

Even the ears are mostly mom. Look for your self. Yes, I am to the right. Find one ear that does not match the others.

Captured

I got my first clean smiley picture today, not the biggest one but still :) Milton has been smiling from time to time for maybe a week or two but I have never captured it on a photo.

Even though my ohhh so amazing Canon 40D (feel the irony) is broken (brand new), still, I am going on strong with my cellphone camera. It's not the perfect camera especially when its not light enough (the flash is to intence and gives ghostly skin and shut eyes) but it gives me pictures so I can remember our sons progress in life (that one was for Canon). Good news, after 2,5 weeks of laying on a shelf in the shop Canon has decided to give me a brand new 40D due to the odd flaw or severity of it. It should only take ANOTHER week (but who's counting).

Insted I took my cellphone and took some pics of Milton in his day-2-day life. He's a crafty energetic little bugger :)

Growth Update

Yet again Mom took Milton to BVC (Child Care Center) for the weekly checkup. Apparantly Milton is still growing (schocker!!). I also got the information from a reliable source that the little fella looks like me... YES!!... :) .... Did I really need someone to tell me that ? Of course, otherwise my ego would have lied.

Nr 1, Nr 2

The last days his thighs has gotten small pressure marks, from his diper. After some thought about the size of Miltons diper we decided to upgrade from Nr 1 to Nr 2. The new size really was a lot different. The "butt"-part is almost double. Why is that ? Does the butt really grow that fast and that much ? Nr 1 is 2-4kg and Nr 2 is 3-6kg but the difference is huge. Well, we tride and sure enough the marks on his thighs went away, but also the "watertightness". Of course, during the night, he releaved himself like any extremly lazy adult would do, in bed. It leaked... what a surprice. My next thought after that was... Maybe we should use Nr 2 during the day and Nr 1 during the night.

I think it's kind of funny to be at work all day handling invoices, planning, employee questions and all the other stuff I drown in during the day. Then I go home thinging about Nr 1's and Nr 2's and leakage :)

Thumbs Up!

Yesterday Mom and Dad experienced another first. While we stood waiting in line to pay for our groceries, thinking about how awful Miltons scratched face looks, he put his hand on his face (yet again) but this time he left his thumb in his mouth. His first noticed and recorded Thumb Sucking :)

I wonder how a little person can scratch himself so much, with his small tiny nails.
He looks like he's been in a cat fight :)

Godfather in the house

A new week has ended. Godfather came by and we played Wii and Online poker until night arrived. He kicked my ass in Wii Bowling but we both won in online poker. Our site of choice ? http://www.starclubpoker.com/. It's a new site in 3D and I love it. It's very game:able =) I really dislike the 2D sites with the stale tables and boring colours.


We also hugged and kissed Milton before he turned in. He's a real sleepyhead so far. I guess that's good =) Tonight (saturday) it's Live Poker Night again. It's my club and Iwill play and earn nothing. I pay and then I win the same I payed. Every night is the same but atleast I never loose =) We have a yearly tournament that will end in june. I aint far from first place =) The trooofy can be mine.

Valentine Shout Out

It is time, once again, to show love to the once you... love. You all know who you are. Myself I got the ultimate love gift three weeks ago so I can complain =) This mandarin (mini-orange) I give to all lovers out there, Ramin / AC, Päivi / Houshang, Börje / Marianne, Margaretha / Lars, Sockan / Becca, Nasse / Jerry, Lars / His Computer... .. .. most of all I give this to my family Elina and Milton. You truly are the love of my life. See in a couple of hours.

Baby Tears

I was told that a babys tear canals are so small that they aren't functional and to be honest, isn't a babys cries enough ? Who needs to actually see the tears ? It's like watching TV with the built-in sound VS a home cinema surround center... It amplifies the effect of the action. I noticed two days ago that Milton has started to produce tears when he cries. Not everytime he cries. I suppose he chooses the action for the reason. If he cries for a diper change he probably wont cry but if he cries of hunger or fear he probably will.

Another thing to add to Miltons development, Tears. I wonder what will be next. He still is the perfect son when it comes to sleeping and crying. He usually sleeps all night but he has started to be awake longer periods of time during the day.

Update on growth

I just got the word from our progress visit. Sadly enought I had to work and I missed it but I will force the hand of God to be able to go next time. I know it isn't a big thing but I love to see the changes Milton makes. The new figures for this past week are (old/new):

Weight - 3780 gram / 4050 gram
Lenght - 52.7 cm / 53.2 cm
Head - 37.3 cm / 38.3 cm

He feels a lot heavier and taller then last time. It's funny that so small changes in numbers feels so much more in everyday life.

Birthday time

Miltons has attended his first birthday for his grandmother. We all got together at their house and ate. Milton still the youngest but not for long. His new cousin is only a few months away. I can't mention her by name because her parents hasn't agreed on one yet, but I am sure she will be as cute as her sister, Lova.

Puff Daddy Cat "Sheeba" was all for the celebration, walking around seeking attention.

This day was also Miltons first day of tasting milk replacement. While we sat in the stable café waiting for mom to excercize her horses I prepared some replacement milk for Milton just incase he would wake up, and sure he did. When he wakes up and wants milk, there's no stopping him =)

First week over

My first weekend as a working dad is over. It feels strange not to be at home with my tooo cute son and perfect woman. I guess I just have to adjust to this life... or I could become a billionaire and stay at home.. every sngle day =)


The fact that I get MMS messages, with pictures like below, on my cellphone doesn't really help me adjusting myself, not being home anymore.

My forgetfullness

I just remembered that I forgot to update the interest parties that we went to the weekly checkup last monday. Nothing special, just an overall check of height, length and head size. Milton has started to grow this last week. Here comes the before and after info.

Height - 3280 gram / 3780 gram
Lenght - 52 cm / 52.7 cm
Head - 36.5 cm / 37.3 cm

Next "weigh in" is next monday. I am very courious on his progress :)

10 days, over..

I'm sad to say I have to go back to work. My maternity leave is over. Don't know if it's common in other countries but we get 10 working days within 3 months of the birth of our child. Of course I took mine the first two weeks of Miltons life. Got to bond with my son dont you think ?

Now it is all over. My two weeks of bonding has passed (way to quick) and now I have to go back to working life. I guess it could be worse. I could be back to the mines, chopping coal for rich people... Atleast my car is done at the chop.

Miltons Great Grandparents Part II

This time on his mothers side AkA not Me. Living very close to us and never met Milton we just had do swing by their place today. Hopefully Milton can communicate with them better then I can since I don't speak persian. As soon as I get my hands on a Rosetta Stone DVD in Finnish and Persian I will go waist deep and dirty. Why finnish ? Miltons other Great Grandparents on his mothers, mothers side live in Finland.

Visit to Great Grandmother

On Miltons fathers side AkA Me. We went to her a few days ago, for a few hours. Never unappriciate the source of your past and history. At the age of 93 she's getting closer to super granny status. Still living at home and healhty as can be expected. I can't even imagine how it was living before World War I and also giving birth at that time.. no painkillers.. aaoouucchhh..

35 is not an age, until Milton turns 35 of course, because then you'll be 70.. and THAT's old :)
