Meeting Avesta

We just got back from a meeting in Avesta (that´s what they horsepeople call some competitionevents). We only brought one horse with us and lucky was that because Sweden had a heatwave. Milton experienced his hottest day (two actually) during this weekend trip. We're talking about 33-36 degrees, clear skies and practically no wind at all. He sat in his pram hour after hour during these hot days with towel shade and a moist kitchen towel. He was a trooper and didn't cry or misbehave or anything. We did of course go inside a few times to cool off but mostly we were outside with the horses. Elina competed in four rounds/competitions and had three clear rounds. We also stayed at a hotel in Avesta Centrum, so we didn't have to sleep with the horses :) That was Milton´s first stay at a hotel.

All and all this trip was a success.

Brain Acadamy

Since we got a Nintendo Wii from work this year.. well actually last year (it was a christmas gift) we felt we had to put it to good use. So I bought some party games and Brain Academy. I love BA.. That game is giving me a brain workout :) I tried the solo test and got 1069 grams of brain. I wish I would have understood that the testresult used a timestamp. If I knew that I would like to think I would have gotten a higher score.

Elinas brother and family came by with some arrends wednesday and tried it out as well. Keep practicing brother, some day you will beat that nine year old :P

Persian Chicken

Tuesday, grandfather came over with some Persian Chicken. It´s a dish, made persian style :) It was the first time I´ve had it. It was good :) Grandfather (or as he says himself, unkle) came by to talk, give food and plan for our summer trip to the family summer house in Finland. We go on sunday (tomorrow since I´m writing this a lot later then I should). It´s going to be great. We are all going for almost two weeks. It´s going to be sun, sand and sea.

Monday was also a special day for Milton's development and life experiences. This day Milton ate real food for the first time. We haven´t had the chance to buy a foodprocessor so we buy his food in jars for the moment. He ate it but it wasn´t the reaction food should give. After awhile he did put a smile on his face so I guess he came around :)

Growth Update

Monday was Milton´s 6th month check-up. Part from the standard weights and hights measurements we also had to see the doctor. It took about 5 mili-second before she said Milton was as healthy as a newborn angel. Always wonderful news and as a parent you want and expect to hear.

Only Girls..

...and Milton (of course). Who would exclude him from any get together ? Mom, God mother and Friend had dinner and drinks and of course Milton wanted in. This was last sunday, the 20th. He always tries to steal the show and until Dad came and pulled him away he did a pretty good job :)

Miltons words of wisdom: Don't eat strings on old toys. They do not taste very well!

Walking the Zoo

Yesterday turned out to be a long day, but a fun day. Grandmother, Elina, Lova, Milton and myself went to Skansen in Stockholm to look at the animals and just relax. Milton has never been to a Zoo before or even seen animals (not counting mom's horses, the family cat and dog and the rat controlling cats in the stables). He saw animals like seals, foxes, pigs, sheeps, different birds and more. He seemed to be interested in animals in general but also things that made sounds ( I wonder why ? :) We did have some luck in our unluck so to speak. It rained heavily partly during our visit to Skansen but every time we were inside. The rest of the time it was a typical hot summerday.

Aquaman!

Tuesday was also the day Milton had a bath for the first time, in a real bucket. Earlier he has been taking semi-baths in our oversized washbasin, in our bathroom. He seemed to enjoy it although he did fall backward once. Luckely Dad is quicker then lightning, so he barely got wet :)

Milton the Buddhist

Tuesday we sat on the balcony just talking and doing nothing. Well that ain´t the whole truth.. We enjoyed our vacation.. Atleast mine since Elina is at home this year with Milton, but now we stay together the whole day together. Love you Elina !

This day he was almost 5 months and 3 weeks. He grows like weed which is totally fine as long as he doesn´t smoke it :) He still hasn´t the balance or power to walk, crawl or stand up by himself but going from being able to stand he has extended his reportoar to being able to sit up. He also showed a religious side. Bow to the statue.
