Those Darn Teeth

Another morning from a restless night. Milton is Mr Twist-N-Turn sometimes. So far those times have been isolated to new teeth. Last night he tossed around and whined from 3-4 and forward. We checked his teeth again and we noticed that the upper tooth, that has been visible for some time, has broken the surface. That explained the nights activities a lot. Now at the age of 7 months and 1 week, Milton has three teeth out in the open. We can also see the third tooths buddy on its way. My guess is that Milton will have his last front tooth within a week.

Milton goes "fishing"

Actually it was mom and dad who fished but Milton was right next to us. This wasn´t the first time he´s seen a person fish but it was the second time he saw mom throw that bate in the water. For you people who follows this blog you know that we bought this fishing equipment last saturday. This was our second time using it. We are still "fish-less" but we will catch some poor little fishy soon enough. I wonder who of us catches the first one ?

One thing that is starting to get real is the change of weather. It´s only the 25th of august and the nights are coming sooner and stays longer. The sun just warms up the body for a little while during the day and then the evening chill enters. Milton had to have his little cap on because of the tempature drop. Atleast it's not so windy yet.

"Maternity" Leave

I have taken maternity leave or should I say daddio leave from January 1st, 2009. I'm going to be at home for 7 months, until about last july. This means that I will be with Milton for 7 months... 7 months ! Ohhh, happy days... :)

I can see us going swimming, movies, parks, fishing, throwing and kicking balls... just anything... I can´t wait. Only 4 months left :)

For all non-swedes I have to add that it´s paid leave. Of course I don´t know what´s the deal in your country but in Sweden we get 240 days paid leave. Roughly counted we get 76% out of our original pay. That´s enough to pay the bills and still have money left for food and fun :)

Unkel Cracker

Yesterday I took care of my brothers new laptop. His old was from 1964 and put together by donkies. What ever I did with it I had to take a coffe break before anything happened... I don´t even drink coffe so image the time it took... His new laptop is great though. It has all the new stuff with blue-ray, fingerprint security, dual core, entertainment center, remote and so on and so forth.

I'm going to see to it that Milton knows this stuff a lot better then me so he can be my teacher and not vice versa. When I buy my new PC, one of my old once are going into his room, even if he can't use it yet. Once he gets curious enough I want him to have the equipment to learn :)

Motor Town

Saturday we went to a carshow/carsale show. Peter, Peter, Elina and Milton met up in Arlanda Stad to look at cars. We saw some really nice looking once too. I got some ideas on what to buy when we don't need to pack prams and such :)

Strangely enough we didn't leave with a car or even a bike, we left Motor Town with fishing equipment.. Yes, you read it... fishing equipment. Motor Town is pretty new and a few different stores are still at the location. This fishing store is moving so we got 50% off of everything... Aren´t we the lucky once :) ... Fishing is a perfect way to time together.. Fun, relaxing and we can talk about what ever.

Later in the evening the family went down to the jetty to try out our new gear. Milton had to watch this time, but in a few years he can join in.

Night of Competition

After a hard week of work and parenting (Acctually, being a parent to Milton isn´t hard at all. He is a doll, a gem, a perfect child) we had God mother and her husband over for some food, beers and competition.

We played Brain Academy on Wii ( I totally ruled :) and Guitarr Hero (co-career mode) on Xbox360. Milton cheered me on of course.. :) I can really see Milton sharpening his brain with our games. All ours games are games that develop sences, reflexes, problem solving, coordination and such.. Who said good can´t be fun ? :)

Guard, Up !

Yesterday mom and son joined dad at his kick-boxning club. Mom had a question about the A/C.. My answer was: Sure we have, but it ain't working to good :)

I wonder what Milton was thinking with all the screaming, kicking, hitting and sweating. One good thing was that he didn't get afraid with all the sounds around him. It tends to get pretty loud. After the class I stole Miltons half-eaten banana.. Needed the carbs :)

Growth Update

Two days before his 7 months birthday we went to another check-up. The good thing was that daddy got to leave work about 1,5 hours earlier, the bad thing was that it rained.

Milton still grows, luckily, and on the growth curves he´s dead on the normal curve when it comes to length, 1 notch over with weight and 2 notches over with his head size. Will he be Mr Potatoehead ? :)

All and all he´s Mr Healthy and Mr Normal.

(Last Time/This Time)
Weight - 8855 grams / 9450 grams
Hight - 68 cm / 69,5 cm
Head - 46,4 cm / 47,2 cm

Name-Giving-Party

Saturday, Elinas brother, Ramin, and his girlfriend, A-C, had at party. Since their children, Lova and Wilda, aren´t and won´t be christened they decided to have a name-giving-party. Only close family was invited including A-C sister and son who lives in Seattle. It was a relaxed get-2-gether that resulted in a sleep over for me and the family.

Golf Weekend

This weekend or should I say this week was the week of SAS Masters 2008. I got a few VIP passes so I went both saturday and sunday. Saturday was family day with Elina and Milton. It was officially Miltons first golftournament, as a spectator of course. I don´t think he was to interested or understood a thing but now atleast he´s done it :) Elina was about on the same level as Milton. Totally uninterested but she was a sport. We did get some fresh air and free food.

* Day 1 Saturday *

Sunday I went with my friend and co-worker, Peter. No, not my schizofrenic self, my actual friend Peter. Sadly this was the day of the crying god. It wouldn´t stop raining but again, we ate and watch balls fly all around. Milton was just as perfect as the day before. He didn´t care about water, not wind. We watched the last hole (18th) for a while and all the missed putts. Even the swedish favorite Jesper Parnevik missed his putt. Atleast when we left the last day a swede was leading, Hanson.

Rabbit teeth

After months of drewling and eating fingers (and other chewable things) we noticed last friday that Milton has finally two visible teeth :) ... and if our eyes didn´t decieve us he also has one in his upper row.

Vacation Over

Milton´s first family vacation. A two week vacation in his 1/4 part homeland (him being part finnish and all). We stayed at the family summer house close to the russian border. This vacation was a part work vacation since we needed to "freshen" up the house a bit. A total of six adults and three small children painted the house, chopped down about 10 trees, trimmed the yard and more. The first week wasn't much of vacation but the second week was really nice.

Milton had his first dip in finnish waters :) and enjoyed it. We walked in the woods, fished and played games at night. I got three pikes and Elina got one, her first in life. If the hook didn´t destroy the inside of the small pike we would have tossed it back in, but instead it became soup.

I noticed that Milton has started to stand up from a sitting position with only the help of balance (which he does not have yet :). Now that I know he has the strength to stand up by himself I can´t wait until he develops balance.

All and all, our first vacation together was great. Grandparents, great grandparents, unkel and cousins all together.

..and this was his facial expression when we told him the vacation was over.
