Grandads Hideout

This past weekend, when we went to Mora, we got to see the almost finished main house where dad and his wife will live half the year. They will live here and in Stockholm as they please and I must say that the part where they live in Mora will be great because the house is awesome. I can just imagine the final result when the guest house, garage, yard, dock and the terrass is done.

I can see our little Milton running around here, fishing, swimming and all the things kids love to do :)

Birthday in Mora

I'm a bit late with this one. This past weekend our wonderful family went to Mora to celebrate Miltons cousin, Isabella. She had turned 4 years old. It was us and my sister (with 3 boys), my cousin (with 2 boys), my mom (and man) and my aunt. We stayed from late friday to late sunday and this trip ment a few things for Milton,

1. Miltons first time on a train (not counting the subway of course :)
2. Miltons first time in Mora.
3. First time meeting my cousin, Tina, and her kids (Leon and André)
4. First time meeting my aunt.
5. First time in a swing-set.
6. First time eating pineapple (loving it :)
7. First time seeing dad getting sick...
8. First time in Grandads new house (not finished yet)
9. First time meeting grandads brother Bosse (and Inga-Lill) and sister Ulla.
10.... almost forgot.. First time wearing a party hat :)

Yep, I ate a pizza at the station in Mora and got really sick. My weekend was pretty much a waste going to bed to rest and I guess my general mood was a bit lower then usual. Even as I type I feel the after effect of the weekend. I've been at work all week not counting tuesday. I spent the whole day there taking tests because I had all of these symptoms that none could explain. Milton had his first visit to the hospital and emergency. I had sensitive hair roots, skin, belly ache, nausia, head ache, eye ache, cold sweats, sore muscles, left part breast and arm ache... and more... Every test was totally normal so they just gave me some stomach medicin. I thought they were crazy but wednesday was better and today I just have a sore belly.

We also broke the news to the last person about Elinas pregnancy. We have let the wind and internet spread the word. It was acctually my wish. Last person in the family that heard about it is usually the first one, my mom... The way things fall...

Home Alone

Again ... :) ... Mom is yet again with her horses and left the men at home. Today for once we stayed home the whoooole day. We just sat by the TV, play area and just hugged and played. I of course took the opportunity to take some photos of Milton when his energy level was high. Like I say every day............. .....Gotta Love Him :)

Milton not happy with his allowance. This is his "negotiater"-pose.

Small kid in a big room.

This is the last thing you see before you get your lights pushed out!

Pokeing the lens.. (daddy so happy)

NO, PICTURES PLEASE!!! (damn paparazzis)

Saturday Family Dinner

In the evening we all got together to eat and just enjoy our growing family. I myself hasn't seen Lova or Wilda for quite some time now. She certainly is growing and she still has her cute, funny and adorable face. I am so courious about how our 3 (soon 4) kids will look like when their about 15 and have their "final" appearance. I should take a yearly photo exactly the same way every year to see the difference.

Photo Patrol

After we got the passport part done we all went out on the streets of Stockholm to take pictures of... anything. My friend and I both have the same camera and it's pretty interesting how different we take photos and what the result is. I do have some different equipment like flash and objectives that gives me the possibility to take other types of photo. In the end, it's just the result that is important.

The weather was great at first then the sun disappeared and the cold made itself heard. The wind wasn't far behind but we took it like men (and baby) and stuck it out. Milton had two sweaters and a jacket, socks, hat and a blanket. He was awake the first 30-40 minutes then he fell asleep.

Here are a few of my photos from that day:

Going International

Saturday while mom was working at the stables and riding horses, I went to the police station with Milton and co-worker/friend Peter, to get a passport for Milton. Elina and I have talked about going somewhere sometime but without a passport for Milton we wont be going anywere. To be sure that wont happen I took it on me to get one for him. It takes a week but after that we can all go international together, anytime :) As a footnote: Milton took his first government picture for official use...(you know what I mean :)

Clearing Out My Old Cellphone

Since my old cellphone went "kaputt" (same as broken) I needed to clear out some backup files and other cellphone related stuff. I already found one video file a few days ago, as you might have seen already. These are all and the last ones I had on my computer. Small clips of Milton at different ages. Think that he could barely move or even control himself just months ago. Children really are sponges.

Milton Frenzy

I haven't had a Milton frenzy for a long time so I thought, -"Why not now ?"

This was yesterday before and while he was eating. Sometimes I just like to put my finger on repeat and take photo after photo. It doesn't happen very often, but sometimes I can not resist :) I know I am not impartial but who can resist this perfect face ? :)

Well, until next frenzy-time... this is Milton.

Old Video Found

I just went thrue old files in my computer for the purpose of cleaning up my hd. I found this file in a unsorted temp folder. It's of Milton when he's 1 month to the day. No hair, bobble head and some uncontrolled smiles... and think this was only 7 months ago.

Glorious Day

I almost thought it was summer again. The sun was on top and the clouds were almost non-excisting today. It might not have been the hottest day but with 10 degrees celsius the sun warmed up the face a lot more then one would think.

Since I've been asked to only tape the competitions (practise purpose) I don't have any photos of Mom and horsy. I did take some photos of the weather and Milton enjoying it. His personality is so awesome and he's so "with everything". The competition went okay. Mom was excellent but the horse wasn't really with us today.

Friday Feast

I tagged this a new thing. That's some what true. It's not really a new experience for Milton but it's new for dad and the situation. I finally got to try out my new wide angle lens from Tamron. I acctually did want to get another one but I got this one so cheap I couldn't resist :)

So, Elina's grandfather and mother has come back from Iran after about 4 months. Last time they saw Milton he was sooo much smaller. He wined a bit when they held him but not much. We ate lots of persian food and candy as usual (can't stop loving it :)

I left earlier for a Guitarr Hero night / Repairing my radiocontrolled car with god father and we were almost successful too... One of the wheels won't come down proporly. I got to look that over soon. We left it as for now. Before I left Miltons great grand ma and pa, with a full and happy belly, I took some photos. I know the last one is really bad but Milton looks like a deer looking at headlight just before the crash :)

Turning 94

Yesterday we went to Miltons great grand mom who turned 94 years old. Still going on strong and taking care of business in her own apartment she invited us for The, Sandwiches, Cake and Ice-Cream. I like the fact that she was born when World War I broke out. It really makes you think about wars and conflicts humankind have faced and endured. We got the WWI, WWII, Cold War, Korean War, Vietnam War, Gulf War, Taliban War, the Great Depression, the Holocaust and all the falls in the likes of Soviet Union and Eastern Germany. Let's not forget about things like TV, Computer and the fact that USA had it's Twenty-Eighth President, Woodrow Wilson, (1913-1921) . The United States presidential election of 2008, scheduled for Tuesday November 4 will be number 56.

1914:

  • World War I starts after the assasination of Prince Franz Ferdinand and his wife.
  • Conditioned Reflex, discovered by Pavlov (Russia)
  • Military Tank, invented by Swinton (England) [H.G. Wells prophecy]
  • Panama Canal opens for shipping business (it cost $366 million and about 6000 human lifes)
  • Robert A. Goddard begins rocket experiments in Massachusetts.
  • Triode Modulation Radio Transmitter, invented by Alexanderson (USA)
  • The Swede Enoch Thuling flies in four days, with stops, from Paris to Landskrona.
  • Selma Lagerlöf is chosen in to the Swedish Academy (Svenska Akademin) as the first woman.
  • The Swedish government unemploymentcomission (svenska statens arbetslöshetskommission AK) is formed.
  • The Swedish government monopolices tobacco production in "AB Svenska Tobaksmonopolet" and introduces tobacco tax.
  • Sweden gets a deportation law.

Well yesterday we didn't talk past. We talk about life in general. Even Milton got a present. Great Grand mom gave him a floating book, shaped like a boat :) Elina worked in the stables so she missed out but she'll be there for number 95 :)
