Adrian !... Aaiiidrian!!!

It was just a matter of time. This past night we put Milton to bed in his crib. It's back-2-back with our king size bed. Around midnight, while watching a DVD (Sex in the City - Complete Set) I heard a thud and then a volume increasing cry. Milton had waken up, climbed out of his crib, crawled commando style (the only crawl he knows) across our bed and fallen down at the end. Luckily our bed isn't very high above the floor. My guess he fell head first because The Bruise Police came knocking on his forehead.

Looks like our little boy is getting even more mobile then a few weeks ago. Today I know what I need to do. I need to raise the crib fence so that he can't climb over. I probably need to do some extra things too because he can walk around the table. He can also walk with the help of only one hand and he can balance for short periods of time without any support at all.

(For you people that didn't get the headline... Think "Rocky")

Eye Doctor

Today Milton got to see an eye doctor to check his squinting, that he does from time to time. Apparantly babies has no nose to help their eyes staying "even". Milton's squinting don't seem to matter and will most definate grow away, when his face grows.

It Speaks !

I feel it's time for some progress updates. Milton has started to practically toss himself out of his bed. That's pretty interesting when we're trying to put him to bed. He has also started to get some "I don't want to sleep right now"-attitude. Not every night, so far it's only been two nights but it's been this past week. You should have seen the Power-Fight between him and me yesterday night. He sat up, I laid him down.. He tries to sit up, I stopped him.. He rolls over, I put him back.. It went on for about 20 minutes before he "pasted out" out of fatigue. I love that he tries, it really makes it more real. More like a person, a thinking individual with wishes and wants.

He has also started to "speak". His words I've heard so far are:

mamma (mommy)
pappa (daddy)
titta (look) *always with a pointing finger*
häst (horse) *I wonder if mom had a finger with this word*

He has also started to look when I point and say "Titta". Obviously he has no clue on what he is suppose to look at but the fact that he just does it is really cool to me :)

Mr International

Today mom, dad and Milton had lunch together. We went to the police station and got Miltons passport. It's over a month since we actually ordered the passport but we haven't had the time to pick it up. Finally Milton can become Mr International... I wonder what country he will visit first (No, I don't count Finland. If your'e a Swede you'll know what I mean)

First I Thought He Was Tired...

10 months on the day

Milton has turned two digits, 10 months. Only 2 more months and he´s a full year. I know we all hear it from time to time but time really does fly. I can't believe Milton is almost a year old and his brother/sister is almost 5 months (pregnant stage). In a few months Milton will have his own brother/sister and we will have two wonderful kids to take care of.

Today Milton celebrated his 10 months birthday with his first functional toy. He took the ball and put it in the hole of his music playing bear. That was his first ever interaction with one of his toys. Put a ball in the hole and the bear plays music while the ball falls downward into small scoops. Ain't he the little brainiac.

Still Over the Edge

Milton woke up a bit lower in tempature. He's now at 38 degrees celsius (Sorry, Fahrenheit people, you still need to Google it :) but his cheeks are still redish. He slept a bit uneasy waking up a few more times then usual, but nothing I would get worried about. He's a doll even when sick. I wonder when he'll be free of it ?

Doctor! Doctor!

Milton is sick!.. I would like to say "Stop the presses!" but it's not very unusual that kids get sick, or so I've heard. This is Milton's first time being sick (that we have noticed). I kind of like the fact that he's sick because I need to practise my nurse-side :) He's still being a good boy, acting as usual. Mom took his tempature because his cheeks were redish. And she was right.. he has a fever, 38,9 Celsius (Fahrenheit people, you gotta convert it.. just Google it :) We gave him his first baby-"alvedon" and let him go to bed about 30 minutes earlier then normal. After his bedtime formula he turned off like a light.

Our little baby boy is sick.. but not for long. I won't allow it :)

Growth Update

Today it was time for the 10 months visit to BVC (Barnavårdscentralen). Milton isn't really 10 months yet but he's only about a week away. This time mom stayed at home because she wasn't feeling very good. She's got the sniffles, felt weak and wanted to stay in bed as much as possible.. SuperDad to the rescue :) ... I left work to go home and take over. There´s no other way a family should work, don't you agree ?.. Help and be helped.. a team.

Fairly Snowing..

I wonder if that's even a correct expression. It's my composion of Miltons first time seeing snow and Milton going to another fair (his third). Yes, yesterday we went to yet another fair. This time we went to "Photo Fair 2008". Same place, different time. Mom didn't come since she had to work in the stables but we met up with my boss and his kid insted, so we weren't alone with all the evil photographers and sales people.

On our way to the fair it was snowing. Not the "O! my god.. the schools are going to be closed tomorrow", but "Look Milton! a snow flake falling". The snow barely made it to the ground, but even so Milton saw his first snowflakes falling.

About the photo fair, it was really crowded. At first it was okay but later on it got annoying... Milton learned a lot watching different sessions like how to prep a model and use the lighting.

.. but mostly he just looked and played around.

He also got photographed a lot while riding on my shoulders. Maybe he´s on www somewhere ? :) I don't think I've see so many cameras at one and the same fair. Not to mention the class of cameras, Nikon D70, Canon 40D and so on. I don't think I saw a single compact camera.

The Three Musketeers

I have missed our weekend family dinners at granmom and grandads. I can't even remember the last time we were there (unless I check this blog :). This past sunday we all met again and this was the first time I saw baby-Wilda moving around being all active and stuff :) I love the fact that soon Lova won't be the only kid running around. Very soon there will be three kids running around and one baby looking on. For newcomers to this blog, Milton will be a big brother in April 2009. Four kids in almost 2 years, that ain't bad at all :)

Milton has started to go from "flat on stomach" to acctually standing on all fours and yesterday (tuesday) mother Elina informed daddy Peter that Milton took his first (notice 1 step) by himself. I missed it and no picture evidence can be provided but that is just a matter of time :)

I noticed that there are very very few "Milton being sad" photos so I posted one just for fun. His face looks so different all mushed up like that :)

Another Fair..

...but this time it was Boat, Kitchen (food oriented) and Health. It took us several hours this past saturday to go thru all these places. "Älvsjö Mässan" is pretty big. It's Stockholm biggest. They always have something going on. This day Godmom had invited Mom and Dad kind of slipped in on a banana. Milton seemed to enjoy the crowd. He sat in his little stroller looking at all the people and booths.

I usually like the Boat fair but I didn´t really feel it this time. The health fair had some stuff that was interesting and so did the kitchen fair but to be honest.. I mostly enjoyed the company.

Sci-Fi Fair

Yesterday father and son went to the Sci-Fi fair in Stockholm. It was my first one as well as Milton's first one. It wasn't the biggest fair I've seen but there were a lot of stuff and lots of weird people. My friend and co-worker, David, worked there so I had some company once Milton fell asleep. I don't think I've ever seen so much props, toys and movies at one place. We also got our picture taken with Danny Trejo from "From Dusk 'til Dawn" and Carl Weathers from "Rocky" and "Predator". Danny's a really really short guy.. I would have never guessed. Milton was twisting and turning all the time. He saw Star Troopers, R2D2, Alien and lots of other things. Finally he fell a sleep, falling forward in the stroller.. That was funny :)
