Milton The Artist

Milton and I sat yesterday reading books, watching TV and.... drew. He doesn't really have the patience to draw for a long time and sometimes he draws with the wrong side of the pen. Milton hasn't really had any control of what he's been drawing. He has just moved the pen all over the paper making marks and lines.

He did one cool thing yesterday when he drew. For the first time he took an ink pen and drew on a paper, afterwards he pointed at it, looked at me and said "öga". That's swedish for "eye". Milton drew his first drawing and his first drawing was an eye. I don't know if it's the best eye I've seen but that doesn't matter. He was so cute with his pen, his look and his word, öga. :)

Miltons first drawing was made at 13 months and 3 days of age.

Going Out For Food

Milton and I went out shopping groceries today and other things that will satisfy mine and my ladys sweet tooth. Today we're going to hug infront of the TV and eat bad, bad food. Milton will sleep so he won't be participating in our bad, bad food orgy.

Milton likes his mandarines so I let him choose which once he wants to eat.

Pizza Date

Yesterday our little family went to a oven baked pizza place nearby. We met up with godmother and her husband for some pizza. Lot's of talk about wall paint, vacation locations and other things. The pizza at that place isn't as good as it use to be.. (new owner, so sad) and the price on the food increased about 15% in a flash. At least the company was good :).. lot's of jokes and sarcasms made the dinner very enjoyable.

Our dinner companions, Godmother and Jerry, eating their pizzas. What a beautiful couple :)

Milton was allowed to eat some pizza crust after his own meal. He didn't want to be left out.

Milton got a bright idea (or so it looks)

It looks like Milton enjoyed his food and pizza crust.

Geography Professor

Milton has a World Map on the wall in his room or as he likes to say "Kata" (baby for "Karta" which is Swedish for "map"). He loves to look at it and point at all the different flags on it and look at me for name of the flag and country. As soon as I say it he points at another flag or country. Maybe he'll be good at geography later on in school ?

Milton Walking

Today we went to Great Grandma (dad's side), after the Open Pre-School. We ate, talked and looked at old photoalbums. Milton has started to let go from security and started to walk all by himself, for pretty long distances too.

Mummy's Boy

The other day mom was at the stables riding and we sat at home. Between eating and playing I started to go thru photos. Milton stood right next to me and watched while I flipped around. When mom came up on a photo Milton started to cry. Apparently he started missing mummy terribly when he saw the photo.

Courage Collected

Milton has been at open pre-school about 4-5 times now and it might be the other kids at that place because Milton has finally collected enought courage to walk by himself. He's been walking between us parents for some time now but he's never just stood up and walk to one of us or between different things. He's finally started doing that. It's still only short distances like a few metres but he's finally started doing it. I'm sure he's going to have enough courage to walk long distances very soon, now that he's started to walk by himself.

Family Valentine

Valentine came and past. Our closest family members on mom's side got together and "celebrated" it together. Lot's of food and a cake shaped like a heart. Mom really made a great valentines cake. We also had some champagne and grandmom gave different kinds of teddy bears to the kids. To bad mom couldn't drink any champagne but as soon as X has been born she can take part of alcohol activities, if she likes. For the time being she's stuck just watching.

I don't know about the others but I felt that last night all three little cousins were everywhere. Lova might be the only one that walks but Wilda and Milton moved around a lot to. Stuff fell, were taken, thrown, touched etc... We all had to keep an eye on them while watching "Melodifestivalen". It's a song contest which in my opinon has turn bad. The music is worse, the way the contest is done is worse and the way the producers milk viewer votes thru different levels of phone/text messaging is ridicules. It's still something to watch but nothing is taken in and the feeling of national pride is totally gone. There's no way we will even do good in the "Eurovision Song Contest" again with this system we have today. It's just something to watch together and talk about.

Next valentines we will have to watch another kid, while eating and mingling. The question is "Will it be 3 girls and 1 boy or 2 girls and 2 boys ?". I can't wait :)

Can you see the resemblance between Milton and uncle ?

Milton dancing and trying to snap his fingers.

Milton and Wilda stood by the 50 inch plasma for a long time. I wonder what drew them to it ?

Hat Fight

Today while mom tried to sleep for a minute Milton tried moms hat. I took some photos while Milton had a fight with it. I think it becomes him a lot :)

Ashreshte

A few days ago Milton had his first full persian meal, Ashreshte. He's tried some stuff before but not as a full meal. Since Milton is quarter persian he has to learn to eat different kinds of food. We also have to teach him finnish food tradition. So far he has liked everything we have given him. Let's hope it stays like that :)

Here Comes the Shoes

Mom bought some new shoes for Milton to walk in. He has some already but they are either too small (before he could stand) or too big. Milton's first walk in shoes kind of reminded me about dogs that walks in shoes. He's soo cute.

Congrats Grandmom

Grandma's turning +1 today. A big Congratulation to her from Milton and the rest of us. Expect a big hug at sunday dinner.

Happy Birthday Grandmom !

Kids Attack

Today dad and Milton went to Open Pre-School in our neighbourhood. We were there yesterday but only around closing time so we didn't acctually have the time to do anything. Today we stayed for about 2,5 hours (mom came by the last hour). Milton crawled around the parents, kids and toys. Usually Milton doesn't have that much contact with other kids than the kids within our families. He seemed to like it even though he didn't play much with them, he mostly looked around.

Active Fit Boy

Well, yesterday we switched Milton's day diaper to an Active Fit diaper. Since Milton hasn't pooped in his diaper for almost two weeks now we wanted to try a slimmer and more moveable diaper. The result was Pampers Active Fit nr4 (8-15kg). Sadly it is a bit to tight so next time we will buy nr5 (12-20kg). Milton weighs 11 kg so he's just about crossing the kg line.

Today we also went to the Open Pre-School in our neighbourhood. It was only for about 30 minutes, just to check it out. Next week we'll start going a few times a week. Lot's of kids for Milton to interact with. He needs some friends to hang with :)

Not Just a One Time Thing

I just have to update yesterdays events. When something is new sometimes it comes and goes like the potty milestone yesterday. I thought it might just be a "now and then" kind of thing. This morning Milton woke up and went to his potty and said "tissa" two times. Once before breakfast (he peed) and once after breakfast (he did 1 & 2). It seems like Milton really knows what the potty is for and when to use it. I love it :)

Next step is to hold his bladder during the night. He still pees when he sleeps.
