So many pretty lawn ornaments...

Lova and Milton Playtime

Today grandma and grandpa came by with lunch and cousin Lova. Milton and Lova ran around with toys, playing. I love the fact that Milton is getting more social. Just a few months ago he didn't interact with other children. He didn't even like when they touched him. Now kids can walk into him and he doesn't cry or even fall down much. His balance is so much better then just a few weeks ago.

Persian New Year - Part II

After our family lunch yesterday we went home to get ready for our dinner over at grandma and grandpa's place. Last weekend we celebrated Persian New Year at Elinas grandparents place so this weekend we're thanking them with another family dinner. Apparently it's tradition to do so.

I just love this picture. It's like it's taken from a Coca-Cola commercial. Cola Zero for the men and Light for the women :)

Family Lunch In High Up

Yesterday great grandma and her daughter, Margaretha, ate lunch with all of their grandchildren at Kaknästornet. The age span was between 14 months and 95 years. That's quite a span. It was foggy outside but still the view was nice. The food on the other hand was a disgrace. I won't go into details but in the end Elina ended up with water, my sisters fries and all we paid for was my food. Next family lunch won't be at kaknästornet. This was also Miltons first time in Kaknästornet, which is one of the big sights in Stockolm, for tourists.

Field Hockey

I play field hockey (bandy in swedish) every friday. This friday mom worked so I brought Milton to our training. Mom picked him up after about 30 minutes. Milton seems to like bandy, watching closely and playing with the clubs at home.

Milton at the Vet

The other day mom did a check up on one of her horses. They also filed it's teeth. Milton and I was spectators, looking at horses and walking around. Everything was okay with our horse. She just needs some rest. That won't be a problem with mom passing her 8th month pregnancy any day now. Last time she rode was this past week. My guess is that our horse will get to rest for about 2 months now.

Walking the Snow

Like a deer in the woods, Milton came walking thru the snow leaving cute little footprints. It looks kind of like a human centrepede :) The weather in Stockholm is odd as usual, snowing one day and warm spring weather the next, melting the snow.

Happy New Persian Year

This past saturday most of our family/relatives went to mama and baba bozorg to celebrate new years. Persians have a different year then most of us. I don't acctually know the year but that didn't matter. Milton met mom's cousin Ramtin and his new wife Sanna. We did miss godmother and Jerry who's in Egypt and Damon who's in ?? Stockholm somewhere ?? We ate persian food bought from a restaurant in Akalla. I just have to remind myself that the chicken was crazy good so that we can visit the restaurant and enjoy it once more :)

Walking the Playground

Outside our apartment we have a playground for the kids. It's mainly for the kids in our four buildings but I've seen other kids play there to. A few days ago, friday, Milton took a walk around the playground. Sadly it's still wet from melted snow and pretty cold so there's not much to do. He rode the wooden horse and walked around picking up gravel and tried to eat it. Hopefully there's a lot more to do next time he's there.

Walk It Off

Milton is still sick but we couldn't stay at home. Since we can't go the open pre-school we went out shopping. A change of scenery and fresh air is good for him. Milton's usually carried everywhere or put in somekind of a stroller. Today for the first time he walked a lot by himself. Earlier he's only walked a few steps in his outdoor outfits.

At the store "Bauhaus" he walked around too. That was the first time he wasn't pushed around on four wheels in a store. He loved the open spaces and all the stuff.

Three's a Crowd

Grandmother and Grandfather (Elina's side of course) came by yesterday evening to babysit Milton and his cousins, Lova and Wilda. We were invited to godmothers husbands 30th birthday party. With three small kids and a dog they probably had their hands full.

We, the parents, enjoyed "Melodifestivalen" on big screen, food and beverages for about 4 hours with Jerry on his birthday. This is him loving one of his presents.

Sadly Milton had a fever when we came home so he slept very lightly. In the morning he felt fine but he's got a terrible slimy cough. He's still a happy camper and eats well so I hope it's something mild. We'll see in a few days if it's gone. In the meantime he had an active but quiet morning with his cousins.

Later the same day (today) he kept going strong. With the exeption of Milton eating a little less he had a normal day. His little hand took my "giant" hand for temporary bathroom balance, he tried to take my cellphone and walked around in a general mode after his grandparents, cousins and mom left.

Sofa Finally Conquered

I just had to put in a quick and short text about Miltons achievement today. He's been walking 95% and crawling 5% per day, every day for a few weeks now. Milton has also been getting down from beds and our sofa for several months. One thing he hasn't done until today is climbing on to our sofa. He's to short and been to weak (balance has probably been an issue also) up until today. He makes himself as tall as he can and throws one leg up and starts to pull and push.

I'll try to put in a video of it tomorrow.

Mr Marathon Man

Yesterday was a long day for Milton and for us. We made several different stops during the day. We started with Milton's open pre-school. After that we went to grandma's house to pick up a TV that we were to give to great grandma later the same day, then we went to the grocery store followed by the visit to great grandma to give her the TV. Leaving great grandma we headed to the stables so that Elina could hold a lesson in dressage. We left home around 9:30 am and came home around 6:15 pm (09:30-18:15).

One thing that was new this day was that Milton was more active than he use to be. At pre-school he walked around with the other children during singing time and at great grandma's he walked and walked walked. It was like his legs has been resting to much these past months and was ready to be used. Also at home I caught his new dance move with my mobile. It's a new shoulder twitch that he's just started to do when he hears music.

Cousin William 7 Years

Yesterday we all went by cousin William to say hi. He turned 7 two days ago. It was a quick visit. Milton is a lot more active now, even with other kids around. Usually he's pretty reserved and careful. Since Finland he's walking more and more every day... and talking... although his talk is bffhgaaguaugauuubff... not counting the actual words he knows like eye, lamp, mamma, pappa and so on.

Small Buckets of Colour

Milton has about 8-9 cups in different sizes and colours that he plays with. Up until a few days ago he has been throwing them around but now he has started to try and put them together. He's not a master at it but he's making progress.

This short clip was taken 2 days ago when I noticed him working the cups.

Choppers

Finally Milton has started growing more teeth :) Yesterday he leaned back, pointed at the ceiling and the lamp that's on the ceiling and said "lanta" (short translation - lanta->lampa->lamp). When he said that I noticed that his upper right back tooth has broken the seal. I also noticed that he has several teeth right beneath his gum. I could see the white line that's visible before they break out thru the gum.

This means that Milton has four front teeth up and down and one new. A total of 9 teeth and counting :)

Hello, Doctor!

Since Milton's been a bit "under the weather" in his belly we went to the doctor to check him out. It's a digestive problem. She said it's not a problem but they will take some tests just to be sure. It was his first time at the doctors office and it looks like it was a success :)
