Words Of Meanings

Milton has been talking for a while now, but some words needs some experience to understand (some words aren´t even words, but sounds).

* gugg = skor (shoes)
* atten = vatten (water)
* kapakapakapa *sound* = traktor (tractor)
* acka = jacka (jacket)
* äst = häst (horse)
* mapp = napp (pacifier)
* braloo *sound* = elefant (elephant)
* bapbapbap *sound* = fågel (bird)
* byssa = byxa (pants)
* mök = mjölk (milk)
* jos = jos (juice)
* oppa = hoppa (jump)
* mo fa = morfar (grandfather)
* bast = fast (stuck)

... these are some words... but he´s learning more and more every day.

Lova Turns 3

Lova has become yet another year older. She´s turning 3 on the 4th but she had her birthday party today. I counted about about 12 grownups and 7 kids. We gave her a horsehead on a stick that sounds like it´s running when it´s ear gets pressed. Wilda liked it but Lova didn´t like it much. She almost looked scared of it :)

Just a couple of years ago Lova got born being the first and only child in the family. Now, 3 years later, there are 4 children (3, 2, 2 and 1). I wonder how our lifes are in another three years.

Gingerbreadman

Yesterday Mom and Milton made gingerbread. He really likes gingerbread. I´ve never seen him roll the wood-thing before. Milton did really good. Loving the sight :)

Back To Normal

It is now the day after. Our first day after the closure. Our lifes are going back to normal and today we left for home. It feels like we should have stayed longer but we all have our work and lifes to go back to. Sometimes that really doesn´t feel right but still, it is life. The good part is that we will return soon. It will be a surprice but we will return. Grandma Elli might be alone now but we will keep her company soon.

Milton, Denver, Lova and Wilda went on a walk with us and to a playground. They really do love each other. So far, Lova and Milton are the only once to interact but I am sure Wilda will join in pretty soon. Denver... he might take at least a year before he joins the gang. I hope they stay friends when they get older.

Earth To Earth, Ashes To Ashes

Today we buried grandpa Eerikki. It was a very emotional time with lots of tears and sad faces. It was my first time being active in a funeral and Milton and Denver´s first time at a funeral. None of them understood what happened. During the funeral service Milton started to talk, whine and cry so I took him outside three times. Finally I stayed outside with him. Denver was so calm and with Mummi the whole time..

After the funeral service we had a reception for all friends and families that attended. It was all very traditional. I really like finnish funerals a lot better than swedish funerals that are a lot more casual and quick.

Again, children are so full of life and a must at funerals. They brigthens anyones day regardless of the situation.

Day Before The Funeral

Tomorrow we will bury Elina´s grandfather, Eerikki. Today we we have been to the market and bought food and clothes. Milton, Denver, Lova and Wilda keeps the mood up and makes us not think to much on what will happen tomorrow. Kids are truly the best medicin for grief.

All Aboard

First day of this serious family trip. We are on our way to bury Elina´s grandfather who died about 2 weeks ago. He has been sick and weak for a couple of years now but it still happened surpricenly quick. With us on the boat was Elina´s brother with girlfriend and Milton´s two cousins, Lova and Wilda. Milton really loves to run around on the boat and Denver sat with us for the first time while we ate the buffé on the boat. Our boys are growing.
